The Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) is the service organization and focal point for Air Force family matters. Serving all single and married active duty, DoD civilian personnel and their eligible family members, to include Guard and Reserve members, other eligible uniformed members, military retirees and their eligible family members.

Air Force Families Forever (AFFF) is a long-term aftercare program established to provide proactive outreach to family members who have lost a loved one that was serving on Active Duty in the United States Air Force at the time of death. Specific procedures have been devised to provide outreach to all persons listed on the deceased member’s Virtual Record of Emergency Data (vRED). The program provides resources, support and information to help survivors adapt to life without their loved one. “Once a part of the Air Force family, always a part of the Air Force family.”
This program has the responsibility for all reporting, notification, and providing assistance to surviving families of the following categories (except as noted): Active Duty, Reserve (in active duty status), Guard (in active duty status), Civil Service (including Non Appropriated Funds) (reporting the casualty), Retirees (deceased only), Contractors deployed on orders under the auspices of the Air Force (AF) and as a result of a hostile action or terrorist activity.
The Casualty Assistance Representative (CAR) schedules and conducts a one-on-one SBP briefing with the retiring service member; spouses are encouraged to attend this office appointment no less than 120 days before the member’s approved retirement date to determine the election of SBP.
Military and Family Readiness Centers (M&FRC) provide employment skills counseling to prepare for portable careers in the private and public sectors. Services include resources for self-employment, small business and entrepreneurial efforts. M&FRCs offer local labor market information, employment trend tracking, skills and interests identification, skills development workshops, job bank or job referrals, alternatives to paid employment (e.g., volunteerism and education), networks for employment contacts, and other on-and off-base resources.
EFMP-FS is the community support function provided by M&FRCs to enhance the quality of life of special needs family members. The EFMP-FS program provides services to more than active duty members/families. It is all encompassing and includes DoD military, DoD civilians, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, retirees, spouses of deployed members, contractors and personnel from other military branches of service.
FVAP.gov ensures Service members, their eligible family members and overseas citizens have the tools and resources to register to vote and request an absentee ballot, regardless of their state of residence. The Voting Assistance Guide (VAG) is a reference guide for everything you need to know about absentee voting in all 50 States, territories and the District of Columbia. Military and Family Readiness (M&FR) Staff they provide financial readiness education and counseling services. PFR services focus on assisting service members and their families to achieve/maintain financial stability, attain their financial goals, and increase their financial literacy/resiliency throughout the military life-cycle.
Services enriches improves the quality of individual and family life by providing the knowledge and skills needed for effective living. Services are designed to ease adaptation to the military lifestyle and facilitate the empowerment of Airmen and families M&FRCs offer families healthy relationship and lifestyle guidance either one-on-one or in workshops/seminars, informal contacts and via community outreach.
The Relocation Assistance Program is to ease personal and family stressors military families experience with a permanent change of station (PCS) by providing assistance, counseling, sponsorship training and education throughout all phases of the relocation process. Relocation assistance is available to service members and their families authorized to make a PCS. The Relocation Assistance Program is the most virtual of all services provided in the M&FRC. The M&FRC staff collaborates with other volunteer agencies to recruit, train, place and recognize volunteer service. Efforts are made to place volunteers in positions of interest. This allows volunteers to gain knowledge, skills and abilities for volunteer positions and employment.
M&FRC staff, in consultation with installation leadership and the supported population, provide personnel and family readiness services to military members and their families. This includes deployment planning/support, personal financial readiness skills, Air Force Aid Society assistance, support to the community before, during and after disaster, crisis, and/or evacuation situations as well as many more programs and services as listed in AFI 36-3009. Readiness NCOs serve as a principal military advisor on matters regarding family readiness and deployment support. They also develop exercises and implement emergency disaster response support plans, ensure the development and implementation of written readiness response plans, and its incorporation into installation operations planning to support national, local emergencies, natural disasters and Non-combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO).
