Missile Crises Plaque
Col. Mitchel Butikofer, 78th Air Base Wing commander and former Air Force 1st Lt Richard Adams look at a plaque for his involvement in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Adams flew reconnaissance missions during the historic event in Oct. 1962. He was assigned to the 363rd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing and flew the F-101 Voodoo aircraft taking photographs of missile storage areas, trucks and other areas for the CIA and then President John F.
