51st Combat Communications Squadron

Commander: Lt Col Emily Short

The 51st CBCS delivers flexible combat-ready Airmen with unique skillsets to provide specific communications capabilities to meet the joint war-fighters’ needs. The unit provides full spectrum communication services for Combatant Commanders anywhere in the world, with rapid response capabilities. Additionally, the unit provides POTUS with specialized security requirements at the request of Secret Service. 

Mission: When tasked, deliver flexible combat-ready Airmen and communications capabilities able to meet the joint war-fighter, and POTUS security requirements, in any environment.

52nd COMBAT COMMUNICATIONS SQUADRON

Commander: Lt Col Jessica Zembek

The 52nd CBCS provides combat-ready cyberspace forces and the full range of expeditionary command and control, communications and computers capabilities for initial expeditionary cyberspace capabilities to establish and operate base cyber infrastructure in direct support of Contingency Response Forces, Air Expeditionary Squadrons, Air Control Squadrons, Air Support Operations Squadrons, Air Communications Squadrons, Combined/Joint Force Air Component Commanders, and Special Operations Units. Additionally, the unit provides communications in support of domestic terrorism response, aircraft mishap, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and contingency operations within 72 hours.

Mission: Deliver expeditionary communications to support warfighters across the full spectrum of operations worldwide.

85th Engineering & Installation Squadron

Commander: Lt Col Christopher Dauer

The 85th EIS is based at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. The 85th EIS provides specialized engineering services for telecommunications networks and radio frequency requirements as well as the installation, removal, and modification of command, control, communications, computer systems, cyber, airfield equipment, and radar systems worldwide during wartime and peacetime operations for the USAF, Combatant Commands, and other DOD agencies. The 85 EIS maintains a deployment force ready to depart on short notice to any location around the globe and continuously supports active combat engagements.

Mission: Rapidly engineer, plan, install, and restore cyberspace and expeditionary communications capabilities enabling Airpower anytime, anywhere.

Vision: To engineer and install cyberspace and expeditionary communications capabilities in contested battlespace to enable Air Force and Joint operations.

5th combat communications support squadron

Commander: Lt Col Mary Kuconis

The 5th CBCSS plays a crucial role within the Air Force's active-duty Combat Communications Group. As part of its mission, the squadron focuses on preparing a highly capable force capable of global deployment. This involves providing training in combat support operations and tactical systems to ensure readiness for deployment. The squadron's efforts are aimed at supporting three combat-ready mission squadrons, enabling them to extend communications to the tactical edge in support of six combatant commands. In essence, the 5th Combat Communications Support Squadron is vital in ensuring effective communication capabilities for military operations across various theaters of operation.

Mission: Facilitate superior maintenance, training, deployment and employment of mobile communications to enable worldwide contingency operations and exercises.
