Tech Sgt. Scott Brakefield, with the 78th Security Forces Squadron, saved the life of a member of the community after he received an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound in a community department store.
The 116th and 461st Maintenance Squadrons met in December for their first-ever Total Force Integrated Resilience Week at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. Mechanics, machinists, plastic workers and more make up the more than 200-member team responsible for supporting weapon systems and manufacturing of parts on the F-15, C-5, C-17 and C-130 aircraft. Additionally, the squadron supports the E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System aircraft and manufacture some parts for the F-18 aircraft.
Robins Air Force Base has two spouses who have been selected for the Joann Orr Air Force Spouse of the Year: Briana Shelly, who has won the 9th Air Force spouse of the year, and Ashley Eller, who has won the Air Force Sustainment Center spouse of the year.
At Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, the Aerospace and Operational Physiology Training Flight with the 461st Operations Support Squadron trains aircrew members on the dangers of hypoxia in a safe environment using a Reduced Oxygen Breathing Device.
The Robins Tax Center will be open Feb. 10, 2020, for active duty, guard and reserve members, along with retirees with a $69,000 or less adjusted gross income.
The 78th Medical Group is opening its doors to local veterans receiving healthcare through the Dublin VA Medical Center system. The VA will be using space within the clinic at Robins to help alleviate the patient loads at its various clinics. (U.S. Air Force video by Paul Wenzel)
The Air Force Materiel Command will offer diagnostic fitness assessments to Airmen starting Jan. 20. As the Air Force continues to review the overall current fitness assessment guidance for Airmen, the AFMC has elected to implement diagnostic testing as a potential part of the policy change.
