New Air Force leadership announcements for Robins AFB

The Air Force has announced a number of senior leader assignments to Robins Air Force Base. 

Col. Carl A. Buhler, who currently commands the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Group in Southwest Asia, will assume command of the 78th Air Base Wing here in July. The 78th is responsible for all base support operations on the 8,722-acre installation.

Colonel Buhler will replace Col. Warren D. Berry, who is being reassigned to the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington D.C. 

Col. Lee K. Levy II, currently Deputy Director of Logistics for Headquarters, Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, will assume command of the 402nd Maintenance Wing. The wing has more 7,800 employees and provides depot maintenance on major weapons systems such as F-15, C-5, C-130, and special operations aircraft. 

Colonel Levy will replace Brig. Gen. Mark A. Atkinson, who is being reassigned to Headquarters, United States Air Forces in Europe in Ramstein, Germany. 

Col. John A. Cote, currently assigned to Headquarters, U.S. Southern Command in Miami, will be the base Inspector General. He will replace Col. Kenneth Sharpless, who will retire after 29 years service, including four years at Robins. 

Also joining Team Robins:
Maj. Gen. Martin M. Mazick will be vice commander of the Air Force Reserve Command, which is headquartered here, and Col. Michael E. Pelletier, will be commander of the 116th Maintenance Group, 116th Air Control Wing.
