As part of National Physical Therapy Month, the Robins Physical Therapy Flight hosted an open house Oct. 26 to show Team Robins a little of what they have to offer.

Located on the second floor of the Robins Medical Clinic in Bldg. 700, the flight’s open space and dedicated patient sections offer a comfortable, safe area to receive encouragement and therapy.

A staff of three airmen serve active duty members for various conditions ranging from assisting patients with motion strength to mobility improvement. The flight stays pretty busy throughout any given week, at times seeing between 60 and 70 patients.

Therapy equipment on site includes a sophisticated anti-gravity treadmill that wraps around a patient’s body, lessening their body weight as they exercise muscles. And there are procedures performed that include dry needling, where a patient lies on a bed and needles are inserted through the skin for therapy of muscle pain.

“We’re a one-stop shop,” said Capt. Cody Butler, Physical Therapy Flight commander. “We can assist those who may have stiffness to helping people get their movement and pain down.”

MSC/4A Appreciation Week also took place Oct. 24 – 28 with a complimentary breakfast, a 5K scavenger hunt run, leadership goody bag handout, ice cream social and dinner at Rigby’s.

And a Customer Service Appreciation Week, held Oct. 24-28, included a non-alcoholic tailgate party with games, potluck and a chili cook-off, as well as a day dedicated to sharing appreciation to others.
