So often, we take the blessings in our lives for granted.

Whether it’s the expectation we’ll wake up in the morning or the notion that we’ll come home safely to our families at the end of each day, most of us are guilty of viewing these and countless other blessings as if they were guarantees.

We complain about things more than we boast about the goodness in our lives.

Reading the latest headlines filled with lives lost and other misfortune has been enough to make me realize there are no guarantees in life. There is, however, a lot of gifts we’re presented in the midst of our journey. We merely have to recognize their worth.

This year, let’s be more grateful. Let’s strive to be less stressed and recognize the many ways we’re each blessed.
