11/22/2011 - ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH) offices will participate in a joint Tier 3 External Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Compliance Assessment and Management Program (ESOHCAMP) and Logistics Compliance Assessment Program (LCAP) inspection, Dec. 5-9 by HQ AFMC. 78 ABW and 402 MXW are expected to receive the largest impact from both Safety and Occupational Health assessments. Based on the scope and previous external assessment activities, Environmental Management, 78 CEG/CEAN will be most impacted; however, any shop across the installation could be visited. The following describes more specific involvement from our ESOH components:
Environmental Management: A HQ AFMC team of two inspectors will conduct the Tier 3 External ESOHCAMP. The primary objective of the Tier 3 is to accomplish a management review of environmental compliance. Assessors will focus primarily on the Environmental Management System, with an extensive document review of environmental policies and procedures. Shop visits will be conducted by both ESOHCAMP and LCAP inspectors, but actual locations are unknown at this time. Tier 3 External ESOHCAMP assessments are a basewide event with the potential to impact all organizations.
Safety: A HQ AFMC/SE team of five inspectors will conduct a Safety Program Management Evaluation (SPME) on 78 ABW/SE and 402 MXW/SE. In addition to the safety program management of the two safety offices, the team will focus on Air Force Special Interest Item 11-03, Motorcycle Safety. The current plan is to validate the motorcycle safety program with the following organizations: 402 AMXG, 78 LRS, 78 SFS and 78 AMDS. The team may also assess Lock-out/Tag-out and Confined Space programs if time permits.
Occupational Health: The team will assess the systemic and programmatic support provided by Bioenvironmental Engineering to their customers. Another goal is to train LCAP assessors in Occupational Health program basics and identify occupational health related violations. Occupational Health assessments will impact 78 ABW and 402 MXW.
Stand down: The Environmental Management Branch will observe a stand down Nov.30 to Dec. 1 to conduct random compliance inspections, lead base-wide training on hazardous waste compliance practices, and meet with Unit Environmental Coordinators to discuss upcoming activities and environmental training. The stand down will prepare maintenance shops for the upcoming HQ AFMC Tier 3 External Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Compliance Assessment and Management Program Inspection, Dec. 6-12.
Compliance: On Nov. 30, Environmental Management personnel will conduct random compliance inspections and collect any remaining Tier 1 shop-level environmental assessments.
IAP Training - Dec. 1, Bldg 359 : Hazardous Waste Initial Accumulation Point training will be conducted throughout the Dec. 1 for all IAP Managers. The training schedule offers multiple opportunities for all shifts to participate. All training will be conducted throughout the day in Bldg 359 Conference Room.
Training focuses on IAP site management, hazardous waste drum labeling, hazardous waste storage compatibility, timelines for hazardous waste storage, and daily hazardous waste compliance procedures. Training times are details below:
- 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
- 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- 09 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- 1 p.m. to 2 p.m
- 2 to 3 p.m
- 4 to 5 p.m
