Throwback Thursday - June 16, 2022
On June 24, 1941, War Department officials approved a directive for constructing permanent buildings and facilities at Robins Field costing $14,006,150. On August 8, a month and a half later, the first contracts were awarded to Griffin, Mion, and Shepherd of Atlanta for construction of the supply and repair depot, and to Aqua Systems Inc. of New York City, for an aircraft fueling system at Wellston Air Depot, Georgia.
