On Dec. 1, 1971, the 16th and final production AC-130E PAVE SPECTRE fixed-wing gunship departed Robins AFB upon completion of the organic modification project. Within two months, it was flying combat sorties along the Ho Chi Minh Trail during the Vietnam War.
