402nd CMXG large 5-axis milling system arrives

ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. – Contractors use a laser tracker to align a large 5-axis computerized numerical control machine inside building 140 at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, Feb. 10, 2021. The 5-axis system will be bolted to the floor on 26 fixators to protect the machine from excessive vibration during the milling process which creates aluminum aircraft parts for the 402nd Commodities Group sustainment process.
