Throwback Thursday - Nov. 11, 2021

On Nov. 9, 1941, then Col. Charles Thomas Jr., activated the Southeast (formerly Georgia) Air Depot upon his arrival at Wellston, Georgia. The next day, he established temporary depot headquarters in a tent at Herbert Smart Air Field in Macon, which also doubled as one of several sub-depots of the Southeast Air Depot.
