Emile Summer, 402nd Software Maintenance Squadron electronic engineer, runs the custom navigation section during a simulated mission in the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex C-5 System Integration Lab. The 402nd Software Maintenance Group has been tasked by the C-5 System Program Office with updating the SIL with installation of a new Core Mission Computer and Color Weather Radar. The tasking is in support of an effort by Lockheed Martin Corp. under the direction of the SPO to develop upgrades to the CMC and CWR systems as part of a long-term program to extend the life of the Air Force C-5 fleet beyond 2040.
