Col. Debra Bean, 78th Air Base Wing vice commander uses an M-9mm Barretta to fire the first shot at the official opening April 15 of the 78th 25meter fully contained range. The range underwent a $4.7 million upgrade. It has increased the firing points from 13 to 24 Shooters. Students are able to move from different distances while the targets remain at a fixed location. Fixed targets eliminate the need for the shooters to cross the firing line, thus eliminating a safety concern. The range also received a $250,000 upgrade to its bullet containment trap, making it an environmentally friendly firing range. The Team Robins Quest for Zero (Q4Z) Fall Protection Focus is to raise awareness of fall hazards and prevent fall-related mishaps. The week is designed to focus on activities accomplished on and off-duty at levels above ground and on the ground. The Fall Protection Focus draws attention to avoidable mishaps due to falls and reminds Team Robins and their family members what they can do to avoid fall-related injuries.
