Wingman Weekend kicks off Friday

Team Robins members are encouraged to join in for the first ever Wingman Weekend beginning Oct. 21.  A variety 78th Air Base Wing-hosted Wingman Day Events will be offered on Friday, and Team Robins members can bring their families out to experience the fun at the 7th Annual Fall Bash on Saturday.  

Below is a schedule of events and glimpse of what to expect:

 

 

 

Friday

 

Triple Ribbon 5K Color Run/Walk

 

Time: 7:50 a.m., Opening Comments; run and walk begin at 8 a.m.

 

Where: Join us for opening comments by the stage located in the parking lot behind the Tennis Courts

 

What to expect:  This is a color run representing the three observances of Triple Ribbon Month; Breast Cancer Awareness, Drug Prevention, and Domestic Violence Prevention.  Several Triple Ribbon memorial activities will be available prior to the run. Uniform: appropriate athletic gear (wear old clothes and tennis shoes that you don’t mind getting stained).

 

Resilience Fair

 

Time: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Where: Health and Wellness Center and the old gym

 

What to expect: Over 40 base and community vendors will be on hand to provide resources promoting resiliency.  Vendors include: the Houston County Health Department; who will be administering free flu shots for civilians, 78 MDG Women’s Health, Employee Assistance Program, Airman and Family Services and more.

 

Robins Connect

 

Time: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Where: Robins Park

 

What to expect: More than 40 organizations, clubs and hobby groups will be available, showcasing what they love to do. Robins Connect is an opportunity to build social connections with others with similar interest. Exhibitors include: Animal shelters, Middle Georgia Mini Coopers, Warner Robins Jeep Club, Middle Georgia Derby Demons, Martial Arts, Professional Private Organizations and more.

 

Lunch:

 

Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

 

Where: Robins Park Pavilions

 

What to expect: Hotdogs, chips, and drinks

 

Other fun:

 

Time: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Where: Robins Park and Park Pavilions

 

What to expect: Corn Hole, Horseshoes, Board Games and  Inflatable Team Challenges: Foosball, Hungry, Hungry Hippo, Jousting and Bungee Run

 

 

 

Uniform for all activities after the run-Military: PT Gear (moral shirts authorized)  Civilians: Appropriate Athletic Gear

 

Parking will be available at the Heritage Club,  Robins Park by the Dorms, and the Fitness Center.

 

 

 

Note: Guidance from Employee Relations Office. "For employees who participate in the Resilience Fair and/or Robins Connect without it being the organization’s Wingman Day Activity, employees may be excused for 1 hour or less, portal to portal, to attend the event when not held in conjunction with lunch.  If the event is held in conjunction with lunch, civilian employees may be excused for no more than 1 hour and 30 minutes.  Employees on flexi-time, for the purpose of attending authorized meetings and observances, will observe a 45-minute lunch period.  Any employee with a regular tour of duty having a 30-minute lunch will take a 45-minute lunch, which will automatically extend their workday 15 minutes.  Employees working a straight 8-hour shift with an on-the-job lunch period will be allowed up to 45 minutes excused on-duty time for attendance for an event held in conjunction with lunch."
