Cindy Graver, the Robins Sexual Assault Response Coordinator, is the Air Force's 2013 Exceptional SARC.

"There are so many wonderful and exceptional SARCs throughout the Air Force. I am just proud to be a part of their team," said Graver, who has more than 27 years of experience in the federal government and private sector. "This is not an individual award, but rather a Team award.

"Being a SARC at Robins is the best job in the world. I have the honor to work with some of the most amazing professionals in the Air Force," she said. "My leadership is supportive, involved, engaged, and most importantly, believes in the zero tolerance policy for sexual assault."

Graver has created a team of 22 professional facilitators to help with SARC annual training requirements - training more than 40,000 service members since 2005.

The SARC office created the 'IT' symbol, an awareness campaign to initiate discussion on sexual assault.

A former Irwin County High School teacher, Graver was also with the Airman and Family Readiness Center as an information and referral officer; relocation officer and readiness officer.

She was a drug and alcohol counselor at the Hampton Veterans Administration Medical Center, and a contracting officer with the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, La.

The DOD Sexual Assault Prevention Response Program recognizes people across the services each year. The DOD-level SARC of the Year will be announced in late April.
