Whether your organization is holding an important meeting or you're celebrating the most special day of your life, the Horizons Event Center is a place where special occasions unfold.

The HEC, as the center is commonly referred to, is no ordinary venue.

Sharon Royster, Operations manager for the 78th Force Support Squadron's co-located club, said the HEC can easily be transformed to meet the needs of age-specific events.

"With the different sized rooms available, we can host a small intimate meeting to a large wedding reception," she said. "In the past, we've hosted a wedding in one of the rooms and the reception in another, so the HEC can be transformed into your paradise if you can imagine."

Formerly the Officers' Club, the HEC came to be the modern-day event venue upon the club's closure in 2012.

Pam Swartzlander, caterer in the 78th FSS, said the center, which is located at 542 Club Drive, across from the Pine Oaks Lodge, can accommodate 25 to 225 guests, at a nominal rental rate.

Royster said the HEC offers a convenient location for events for far less than off-base venues.

"The location is very convenient if you are hosting a meeting or event that involves several organizations on base," she said. "With the average rental halls off base costing hundreds of dollars, you can save that money and use it towards making your event that much nicer with our event center."

The HEC may be reserved by all base ID cardholders.
