ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Airman 1st Class Daniel Romain was found drowned Monday, July 29, at Amerson River Park in Macon, Georgia, after going missing on the Ocmulgee River the day before. Airman 1st Class Romain was assigned to the 78th Security Forces Squadron at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.
“Though he was only with us for a short time, 78th Security Forces Squadron and Team Robins mourn the loss of our Wingman and Defender and grieve for the family and friends who have suffered this loss,” said Maj. Chad Jessup, 78th SFS commander. “As we assist our impacted Airmen and loved ones, I encourage you to check on one another, and provide the love and support that will allow us to get through this difficult time. We will continue to stand strong, shoulder to shoulder.”
Airman 1st Class Romain of Newark, New Jersey, enlisted January 9, 2024. He became a member of Team Robins July 2, 2024.
The investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Airman 1st Class Romain is ongoing and questions should be directed to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
