Tops in Blue 2007 to help Robins celebrate AF 60th Anniversary Published Sept. 21, 2007 By Holly L. Birchfield 78th ABW/PA Robins AFB, Ga. -- The 2007 Tops in Blue team is set to help the Middle Georgia community celebrate the Air Force's 60th anniversary in style. The Air Force talent team is set to take its show, themed "The Fly By," to the Warner Robins Civic Center stage at 7 p.m. Oct. 6. Staff Sgt. Kevin Guy, an airfield systems apprentice in the 53rd Combat Communications Squadron at Robins, will be drumming things up at the show, along with several other Air Force men and women from bases around the world on the 2007 tour. Linda Hinkle, marketing director for the 78th Mission Support Group's Services Division, said the show will bring back some of the sights and sounds of the Air Force's last 60 years. "People can expect a high-energy show," she said. "The musical tribute is 'The 60 Years of Proud Air Force History.' I imagine they'll have music from every era over the past 60 years." Ms. Hinkle said the performance will provide entertainment that people of all ages can enjoy. Usually the Middle Georgia community gets the chance to see Tops in Blue only once a year. But since Robins fell near the end of the 2006 Tops in Blue tour and will now catch the 2007 team in the middle of their travels, the community gets twice the fun this year, Ms. Hinkle said. Ms. Hinkle said although show goers won't need a ticket to see the show, they should arrive early to get a good seat. Ruby Wasway, Robins Community Center director, said the show will give people a chance to have fun and learn more about the tour group. And the talented Air Force members of Tops in Blue will make people feel like they're on Broadway. "It's a professional show," Ms. Hinkle said. "It's of the caliber of something you'd see in New York and it's absolutely free." What to know Tops in Blue 2007 will perform its show, 'The Fly By,' on Oct. 6, at the Warner Robins Civic Center. The doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the show will begin at 7. All attendees will be subject to random searches. No large bags or packages will be permitted per Warner Robins Civic Center policy.
