Team Robins members earn Air Force-level honors Published March 26, 2010 By Tech. Sgt. Vann Miller 78 ABW/PA ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The winners of annual Air Force-level A1 awards were recently announced, and Team Robins proudly has its share of recipients. Team Robins had six winners at the Air Force level, nearly half of those who had been previously recognized by Air Force Materiel Command and Air Force Command. The Team Robins winners are: Roger M. Blanchard Memorial Award - Mary Larralde, Directorate of Personnel; Education and Training Senior NCO of the Year - Senior Master Sgt. Pierre Miles, 78th Security Forces Squadron; Senior Manager of the Year (Operational Level) - Kenneth Wallace, Directorate of Personnel; Technician of the Year (Operational Level) - Ashley Hightower, Directorate of Personnel; and Force Support Reserve Component Company Grade Officer of the Year (Staff Level) - Capt. Kimberly Chilcoat, Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command. Additionally, the Robins Base Restaurant was named Specialized Program of the Year. "It's a huge honor," said Mary Larralde, Personnel director. "The awards were really humbling because there are so many functional areas within the A1 community -- and so many people." In a previous article about the honorees, Larralde said they set a great example for each member of Team Robins to follow, but "each of us knows these awards represent a team effort." "We realize the importance of good coworkers and supervisors; we couldn't do what we do without them," she said.
