The Air Force announced that the commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Maj. Gen. Polly A. Peyer, will retire.

While it did not provide a date, it also said her successor will be Maj. Gen. Robert H. McMahon, who is currently director of logistics, deputy chief of staff for logistics, installations and mission support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force.

"It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at the pinnacle of my 35-year career," Peyer said.

"The decision is always a personal and hard one to make, but I feel that it is the right time for me and my family," she added.

Peyer started her career as an enlisted member in July of 1975 and was commissioned a second lieutenant in March of 1977.

She has commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels; held a number of major command and headquarters-level positions; and served overseas in Germany and South Korea.

Prior to coming to Robins, she was the military assistant to the acting Secretary of the Air Force in Washington, D.C.
