The commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center and the president of the largest union on Robins signed an agreement Wednesday, renewing their commitment to a positive working relationship. Maj. Gen. Robert H. McMahon, Center commander, and Tom Scott, president of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 987, each signed the Labor-Management Partnership Agreement.

The document is the same as it has been under previous commanders, but is traditionally signed by each new commander as a renewal of the commitments outlined in the agreement.

"You and I will agree to agree and we will agree to disagree, but we will work through the issues," McMahon told Scott following the signing. "It's this partnership that will make us successful."

The agreement does not supersede the Master Labor Agreement, which extends across Air Force Materiel Command, but instead expresses a local commitment by both sides to follow the MLA and work together on issues.

The partnership agreement also spells out the formation of the Partnership Council, which is made up of labor and management leaders and meets regularly to explore ways to improve relations. Scott said the agreement is significant because it establishes open communication between the two sides.

"We communicate with one another to resolve issues and make leadership aware of things going on in the workforce for the betterment of the mission," Scott said.
