Robins pays tribute to deceased Published June 3, 2011 By Wayne Crenshaw 78th Air Base Wing Public Affairs ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- While Monday was the traditional day for honoring America's war dead, May 26 was Robins' day for honoring its fallen team members. The annual Camellia Garden Memorial Service recognized 55 civilian and military members of Team Robins who died during the past year. The members' names were added to the tranquil garden's wall, joining more than 1,700 others honored in previous services. Deryl Israel, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center executive director, gave the keynote address to family, friends and co-workers of those remembered. "I sincerely hope we will honor their memory by continuing to take up the cause that was their life's work," he said. The honorees included both those who worked at Robins at the time of their deaths and those who worked here at some point in past. After the names were read, Israel and 78th Air Base Wing Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Kenneth Harp laid a wreath at the memorial.
