Robins workers proud of son's Little League success Published Aug. 19, 2011 By Jenny Gordon 78th Air Base Wing Public Affairs ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- For the third time in five years, the boys of the Warner Robins American Little League have made the trip north to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. Joining the team of 14 players to the 65th World Series is Logan Arnett, son of Michelle and Billy, both longtime members of Team Robins. Michelle is a civilian pay program manager with the 78th Air Base Wing's Comptroller Squadron/Financial Management Analysis Office. Husband Billy also works with the 78th in the Logistics Readiness Squadron. Both have been working at Robins for 23 years, with start dates of just one week apart. Logan is a second baseman and pitcher, and has been involved in Little League play in Houston County since he was just five years old, says his proud mother. "He had a very good year," said mom Michelle. "His goal this whole year long was to get where they are now. This is the last hurrah." The Macon native, who turned 13 this past July, attends Bonaire Middle School, where he maintains an A average as an honors student. His favorite subject is math - and he's played numerous school sports, but has yet to try out for track. Asked about the sacrifices of being a Little League parent, Michelle noted that it's all been worth it - daily practice, team outings and away games. This will be the last year her son Logan can play Little League. "I'm just telling him to let it all soak in and enjoy himself," said Michelle. "Its been a very exciting and hectic schedule, but I don't think any of us would trade what we've gone through. They had their sights set on this all along." Joining the Arnett family is Brad Fink, the 78th Mission Support Group honorary commander. His son, also named Logan, will be playing in the Little League championship too. Be sure to tune in to ESPN now through Aug. 28. The Warner Robins boys could face teams from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Rhode Island, Montana, California, and as far away as Taiwan, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Aruba, Columbia and Canada.
