CFC in full swing at Robins Published Oct. 7, 2011 By Jenny Gordon 78th Air Base Wing Public Affairs ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- During the next six weeks of the Combined Federal Campaign, there will be opportunities for Team Robins to give back to the community. The theme of this year's campaign, which runs Oct. 5 through Nov. 16, is "50 years of Caring." The Middle Georgia CFC, which covers 17 counties, has a goal of $1.5 million, including Robins' goal of $1.4 million. "This is our monetary goal, but our true goal is to make 100-percent contact with every federal worker, to give them the opportunity to participate," said Jimmy Katsekis, Middle Georgia CFC chair, during a kick-off event on Oct. 3 at the Museum of Aviation. Maj. Gen. Robert McMahon was this year's keynote speaker. He spoke on the importance of everyone doing his or her part in helping others in need. "We have the opportunity now through the CFC to share back with the community - whether nationally or locally - how we feel about them," said McMahon. "I would offer to each of you that as you recognize this opportunity to give back, we tell our community thank you for all it has done and continues to do." In 2010, Robins employees gave more than $1.6 million. Of that $1.6 million, more than $650,000 in CFC designations was awarded to local organizations. Robins has exceeded its goal every year during the last 10 years. There are more than 20 super monitors and alternates representing organizations across the base, with an additional 300 key workers and volunteers.
