The commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center, Lt. Gen. Stacey T. Hawkins, reached out with a Thanksgiving surprise for two Team Robins members and an Airman at Hill AFB today.  Lt. Gen Hawkins promoted two 78th Logistics Readiness Squadron members and a 649th Munitions Squadron member via video teleconference from Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, with help from 78th Air Base Wing Commander Col. Lindsay Droz, 78th ABW Command Chief Master Sgt. Luis Magana, 75th ABW Commander Col. Jeffrey Holland, and 75th ABW Command Chief Master Sgt. Raymond Riley.

The new STEP honorees, based on their exceptional service, leadership, and professionalism, are Tech. Sgt. John S. Sanderson and Staff Sgt. Sydney R. Robinson, and Tech. Sgt. Merrill R. Alexander.

"This is a special, special day," said Lt. General Hawkins to the new promotees. "We are depending on you leading us to the future."

The Stripes for Exceptional Performers, or STEP, program, allows the major command, unit commanders and senior officers to select a limited number of Airmen or Guardians with exceptional potential for promotion.
