ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- On May 30, 1975, Lt. Col. Roger J. Smith flew the first F-15 Eagle to officially complete the programmed depot maintenance process by members of the WR-ALC. During the flight, Smith performed several special maneuvers, which broke eight flying records for jet fighter aircraft. Hundreds of dignitaries and media attended the event, which established Robins AFB as “Eagle Country.”
