78th Air Base Wing Change of Command

The 78th Air Base Wing at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, had a change of command ceremony June 29. Col. Lindsay Droz stepped in as the new commander of the 78th ABW. She was the former 402nd Aircraft Maintenance Group commander at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex. 

As the commander of the 78th ABW, Droz commands more than 2,700 personnel assigned to three groups, a communications directorate, an operations support squadron, a comptroller squadron and 17 wing staff agencies, all who support the installation needs of 54 mission partners at Robins. Droz also assumes the responsibilities as the Robins Installation Commander, which include the safety, security, morale and welfare of more than 23,000 total force Airmen and 28,000 local dependents and retirees.

Lt. Gen. Gene Kirkland, Air Force Sustainment Center commander, presided over the ceremony. Col. Brian Moore, outgoing 78th ABW commander, will be taking a position at Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
