HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The President has signed an Executive Order to implement a retroactive 1.9 percent pay raise for federal civilians. This increase will be retroactive back to the first pay period of the year, Jan. 6, 2019.

Office of Personnel Management has posted the new 2019 salary tables on their website at https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/salaries-wages/.

According to the memorandum from OPM, found at https://www.chcoc.gov/content/retroactive-2019-pay-adjustment, agencies will need to correct any intervening personnel actions that were effective from Jan. 6 until the pay raise is processed in order to retroactively reflect the new pay rates.

“Employees should always be checking their Leave and Earning Statements, but it is even more important when records are being retroactively adjusted to ensure that the correct information is being reflected,” said Donna Desimas, chief of Civilian Personnel at Hanscom.

While the goal is to process these adjustments as quickly and accurately as possible, employees should expect to receive their retroactive pay within the next few pay periods, Desimas said.
