The Thunder Over Georgia 2019 Air Show is shaping up to be a fast-paced and exciting experience for the whole family.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline the air show at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, Sept. 28-29, 2019.

The Thunderbirds are an elite team of pilots, maintenance, medical and administrative personnel. The team has eight highly experienced pilots who went through rigorous screening to be selected as among the elite the Air Force has to offer.

After selection, each pilot receives their new call sign: the number bird they are flying. Thunderbirds 1-6 perform the aerial demonstrations in each air show, while Thunderbird 7 is the operations officer, and Thunderbird 8 is the advance pilot who also narrates each show.

The Thunderbird team has a total of 12 officers and more than 120 enlisted personnel, representing nearly 30 career fields, who keep the team operational. Every show season, 24 professionals in various aircraft maintenance specialties are selected to travel with the team, to ensure the aircraft are always ready.

Many performers are lined up to join the Thunderbirds at Robins this year for a full weekend of high-speed fun.

Some confirmed acts are:

- F-22 Demonstration Flight Team

- U.S. Army Special Operations command Parachute Demonstration Team – The Black Daggers

- Shockwave Jet Truck

- Firewalkers

- Man vs. Impossible
