ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The third and final phase of the Robins Air Force Base gate project to install speed calming devices is in progress. During this phase the Watson Gate will be closed to inbound and outbound traffic due to the required construction.
During this time:
The MLK Gate will be open for inbound traffic from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and outbound traffic from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Russell Gate will be open 24 hours and will maintain one outbound lane from 6 to 8 a.m.
The Green Street Gate will maintain its normal hours (5 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
IMPORTANT: The Robins AFB Visitor Control Center will remain open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays (except for federal holidays) during this phase of construction. To access the Visitor Control Center, personnel will enter the Watson Gate area through the OUTBOUND lanes. All traffic will be directed to the Visitor Control Center. There will be no main base access from Ga. Highway 247 through the Watson Gate.
