11/24/2010 - ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Team Robins members have once again dug deep to help others while exceeding the goal of the Combined Federal Campaign.

Although members have until Dec. 1 to donate, the campaign ended last week with $1.51 million raised. That's 108 percent of the goal.

"I'm extremely pleased," said Nancy Himes, Robins' campaign chairperson. "Meeting the goal is great, but it's all about the charities."

The campaign allows federal workers to choose from hundreds of charities to help either through payroll deduction or a one time payment.

Himes said Robins was the first base in Air Force Materiel Command to reach its goal.

"The CFC committee sends thanks to all those who donated to this year's drive," Himes said. "We are truly grateful."

The campaign had 99-percent contact, which means 99 percent of employees on base were informed of CFC and given the opportunity to donate. Himes said the contact number is notable because of the challenge of reaching people on temporary assignments or leave, or away from work due to illness.
