A recent survey has shown nearly 27,000 people enter Robins each day, including employees, contractors and visitors. And with nearly a thousand new hires expected in fiscal year 2011 alone, traffic and parking problems at Robins will get worse before getting better.
Base officials are doing all they can to smooth the situation. They've developed several initiatives to help ease traffic and parking congestion, reduce delays getting onto the installation, and help employees save on fuel, insurance and maintenance costs for personal vehicles. The initiatives will also help Team Robins be a good community partner in our efforts for cleaner air.
Robins commuters are encouraged to take advantage of the initiatives, which are explained in more detail below.

Buses into Robins Daily
The Buses Into Robins Daily shuttle program, also known as BIRD, is a dedicated shuttle with specific pick up and drop off points.
The cost for the trip between the base and Macon is only $3.00 each way, which is reimbursable to members enrolled in Transportation Incentive Program. To enroll in this incentive program, contact 478-926-4628.

Enrollment in TIP does not obligate members to participate in the program.

tabClean Air Campaign
Clean Air Campaign

The Clean Air Campaign is a not-for-profit organization which works with its partners, Georgia employers, commuters and schools to encourage actions which result in reduced traffic congestion and improved air quality.

Robins is a partner with the Clean Air Campaign, which operates the website to help commuters find carpooling partners. Team Robins members can put in their working hours and home location, and the site will identify others in their area with similar hours.

Users of the site are also invited to log their commute mileage saved through carpooling, which makes them eligible to win cash and prizes from the Clean Air Campaign's Commuter Rewards program. Additionally, people who bicycle, walk or vanpool can log on to win awards.
