In CY08, an alarming number of the Team Robins family took their own lives. The tragic loss prompted the base leadership to take a closer look into this epidemic.

Starting in January of 2009, the "You Matter" campaign was launched, focused on raising the awareness of suicide and suicide prevention. Based on the statistics in this region, the suicide rate on base was four times the national average.

With the help of the public affairs office and the medical group, multiple products were created to reach out to individuals contemplating suicide.

Some of the campaign products distributed were videos, a logo and posters as well as local news stories -- both on and off base.
