The Directorate of Personnel did some scrambling this week to keep operations going after heavy rains Sunday damaged part of Bldg. 376.

A major roof leak caused serious damage to the ceiling, carpet and computers in a significant portion of the building.

Approximately 40 employees have been relocated, some to Bldg. 255 and others to vacant parts of DP.

Mike Gavin, a labor relations specialist who has been helping organize the relocation and clean-up effort, said the damage is significant, but it is too early to put an estimate on it. He also couldn't say how long it might be before the displaced employees can return.

Mary Larralde, DP director, said in an e-mail Tuesday "services will be limited at best" over the next several days.

She said those with appointments should call ahead to 222-0601 or 222-0667 to make sure they're still scheduled and confirm the meeting location.
