The Red Cross now has an office on base, and not only is it here to help, it's looking for a few good service members to volunteer.

"We're very excited for this opportunity," said LaTravius Smith, Red Cross emergency services director. "We look forward to being in the middle of the military community, where we can easily communicate the Red Cross mission and engage with service members and their family members."

She said service members can not only find out about programs they may be eligible for, but also look for opportunities to give back through volunteer service.

The new office is in the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Bldg. 794.

Initially, the Red Cross will staff the office with one volunteer on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will evaluate the need after that and scale those hours up or down.
