Base energy office announces three contests

The Robins Energy Office is sponsoring three contests to promote awareness during Energy Action Month.

Guidelines:
1. Personnel are encouraged to submit nominations for the following categories -- Energy Hog, Energy Champion, Energy Creative/Innovative.
2. Submissions in bullet format; five bullets maximum, 10 words maximum for each bullet.
3. Identify building, organization or area 
4. Send nominations to 78 CEG/CE Energy Office

"Energy Action month is a time to take action in reducing energy use," said Art Howard of the Energy Office. "All of us need to take action as prudent stewards of our tax dollars and responsible adults. With your help and awareness, we can make conscious effort towards reducing our energy consumption."

He said the contests are for "fun, bragging rights and increased awareness."

Contest 1: Most Improved Energy Hog
Identify the most wasteful/inefficient use of energy by an organization - e.g. lights left on when not needed, excessive personnel electrical equipment, equipment running when not needed, etc. Nominations due by close of business Oct. 12. Energy Office personnel will select "winners" based on nominations and observations. 

From  Oct. 29-31, Energy Office personnel will revisit nominees and select the most improved based on nominations and observations. The most improved Energy Hogs will be given certificates suitable for display.

Contest 2: Energy Champion
Most efficient use of energy - e.g. end of day checklists being followed, policy in place for office, lights and unnecessary equipment turned off when not in use, etc. Nominations due by Friday, COB, October 26th. Energy Office personnel will select "winners" based on nominations and observations.

Contest 3: Most Innovative and Creative Shop or Person
Identify innovative and creative actions being taken to reduce energy consumption. Nominations due by Friday, COB, October 26th. Energy Office personnel will select "winners" based on nominations and observations.

Contest results will be announced in the Rev Up.
