Wade McElmurray, 560th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Aircraft Sheet Metal work leader, oversees all processes and procedures involved with the removal and replacement of the Center Wing Box on C-130s.

McElmurray was faced with having to conform to new guidelines dealing with the COVID 19 pandemic. It was his responsibility to ensure his crew complied with social distancing (six feet), wearing protective masks, the importance of washing hands and a controlled entry point with hand sanitation. His attention to his personnel allowed for maintenance of the C-130 Warfighter to continue, ensuring overall mission success.

“As a Work Leader, Mr. McElmurray took the lead and set the example by not only complying to the new guidelines, but ensuring his crew understood the importance of why this will be the new NORM, and why we must make the necessary changes in order to continue to meet our customer’s needs in support of the Warfighter,” said David “Bubba” Stone, 560th AMXS production flight chief.”
