AFSC commander sends holiday message

  • Published

Teammates,

Another year of world-class efforts from a workforce of a dedicated Airmen has come and gone. I remain awed by the innovators and motivators among us who faithfully execute the mission, day-in and day-out. Each month reminds me of the profound accomplishments that take place in our air logistics complexes and wings; it is truly remarkable to reach the end of a year and look back at the many successes that envelop 2019.

I am optimistic for 2020 because of the opportunities that await. I anticipate being wowed by the ideas of our military and civilian Airmen and being humbled by their approach to problem-solving. I look forward to being inspired by a workforce as we congratulate our fellow professionals on 20-, 30-, 40-years of federal service, and hearing the individual stories. Next year will bring new challenges as well, and I am confident we will tackle each head-on.

As we conclude 2019 and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose, let us mindfully reflect on the months behind us with pride. It is my privilege to serve with you, and I look forward to joining you in the New Year.  Please remember to look out for one another.  Enjoy this season, and take time to celebrate with those you hold most dear.

Happy holidays!

Lt. Gen. Gene Kirkland

Commander, Air Force Sustainment Center
